Presidents dropped by Titans

NEW WILMINGTON – Jarrett Vrabel scored 12 points and grabbed 19 rebounds as Westminster ended Washington & Jefferson’s season with a 76-62 victory over the Presidents in the opening round of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference men’s basketball playoffs Monday night.

Charlie Wallander led Westminster (9-17) wity 14 points, while Brandon Domenick and Paul Carswell had 13 each for the Titans, who had 21 offensive rebounds in the game.

Gianni Buarne had a game-high 23 points for the Presidents (1-25), who once again dressed just six players. Brian Graytok added 19 points, while Brian Lindquist led W&J with 12 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.

Westminster advanced to the PAC quarterfinals, where it will face No. 2 seed Grove City at 7 p.m. today.
