W&J’s Bellhy named first-team All-PAC
Moments after leading her team to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference title game Friday night, Washington & Jefferson senior forward Beka Bellhy, a Fort Chery graduate, was named first-team all-conference. Bellhy, who is averaging 18.9 points and eight rebounds per game, was joined on the first team by Kathryn Erbelding of Grove City, and Nikki Kiernan, Abby Owings and Sydney Moss of Thomas More. Moss was also named the PAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Year and Erbelding was the conference’s defensive player of the year. Washington & Jefferson head coach Jin DeRubbo was named coach of the year for leading the Presidents to a second-place finish in the PAC West and a 20-win season. It was her sixth time receiving the award after winning four times as Bethany’s head coach.
Bellhy’s younger sister, Rachel, a sophomore forward for the Presidents, was named to the second team, along with Waynesburg sophomore Addy Knetzer, a Chartiers-Houston graduate. Amirah Moore of W&J and Maura Bobby of Waynesburg were honorable mentions.
The PAC’s all-conference teams are voted on by the conference’s 10 head coaches.
