Fort Cherry tops C-H in overtime
McDONALD – Chad Colussy scored eight of his 14 points in overtime as Fort Cherry stunned Chartiers-Houston, 64-57, Wednesday night in a Section 3-AA high school boys basketball game.
Trailing by 10 entering the fourth quarter, Chartiers-Houston (2-7, 8-8) went on a 15-5 run to tie the score at 52 with under one minute remaining. Fort Cherry (1-8, 3-13) missed a shot with just under 30 seconds remaining and the Bucs had three shots to win the game but missed all of them.
Colussy, who had been in foul trouble for much of the second half, scord eight of the Rangers’ 12 overtime points to finish off the Bucs.
Dev0n Brown led the Rangers with 20 points, while Rob McAnany had 19.
A.J. Myers had 17 points and Cam Hanley added 16 for the Bucs, who made just 8 of 27 free throws in the game.
Brentwood 61, Burgettstown 45: Three players scored in double figures to pace Brentwood to a 61-45 victory over Burgettstownn in a Section 3-AA game.
Dorian Bowie scored 18 points, Shane Yarsky 12 and Sean McGlaughlin 10 for the Spartans (4-5, 6-9).
Max Shaw scored 13 points and Brad McLaughlin 10 for the Blue Devils (2-7, 5-12).
Beth-Center 70, Bentworth 55: Bradey McDonnell scored 16 points t pace Beth-Center to a 70-55 win over Bentworth in a Section 3-AA game.
Brenden Stanley chipped in 14 and Luke Hess added 10 for B-C (3-4, 6-6).
Nick Silver scored 11 points, and Sam Schoedel, Steve Harner and Levi Jordan each scored 10 for the Bearcats (0-8, 3-12)
West Greene 74, Monesen 29: West Greene had four freshmen score in double figures on the way to a 74-29 victory over Monessen in a Section 3-A game.
McKenna Lampe led the way with 16 points for the Pioneers (8-2, 14-3), who clinched a playoff berth for the fourth time in five seasons. Savannah Pettit chiped in 13 points and Kaitlyn Rizor scored 11.
Lashaundria Gillaspie paced Monessen (0-10, 2-15) with 12 points.
Serra Catholic 59, Belle Vernon 41: Aliya Coleman had 18 points as Serra Catholic topped Belle Vernon, 59-41, in a non-section game.
Loren Minor added 11 points and Olivia D’Andrea and Felicia Moon had 10 each for Serra (12-3).
Kelsey Green and Taylor Kovatch had 10 points each for Belle Vernon (5-12).
