Steelers re-sign Cockrell
The Steelers signed cornerback Ross Cockrell, an exclusive rights free agent, to a one-year contract Friday.
Cockrell, who was signed at the end of August after his release by Buffalo, appeared in 15 games, making 44 tackles with two interceptions and 11 pass defenses. He had a key fumble recovery against Cincinnati in the playoffs to set up Pittsburgh’s game-winning field-goal drive.
Cockrell was a fourth-round draft pick by Buffalo in 2014 out of Duke.
