GREENSBORO, N.C. – Belle Vernon High School graduate and Pitt star offensive lineman Dorian Johnson was named to the 2016 All-ACC Preseason Team Wednesday in a vote of media who cover the league.

Johnson, a starter since his freshman year, enters his final season at Pitt with a consecutive games started streak of 27 games. He is slated to be Pitt’s starting left guard this season. He was the leading vote getter at guard, getting 107 votes.

Johnson was joined on the first-team list by teammate Ejuan Price, a defensive end.

Price, a Woodland Hills graduate, had 48 tackles, 19.5 tackles for a loss and 11.5 sacks last season, earning first-team All-ACC honors.

Preseason player of the year Deshaun Watson led 10 Clemson players on the preseason all-league team.

Watson – a 2015 Heisman Trophy finalist who became the first player in Bowl Subdivision history to pass for 4,000 yards and rush for 1,000 more in one season – was one of seven offensive players from the Tigers on the team.

Florida State had five players on the preseason team, led by running back Dalvin Cook. Louisville and North Carolina had three selections apiece, led by Tar Heels running back Elijah Hood. Cook set school records with 1,691 yards rushing and 1,935 all-purpose yards.

Pitt had two other players who just missed earning first-team honors, senior offensive tackle Adam Bisnowaty and sophomore safety Jordan Whitehead.

Senior tight end Scott Orndoff, a Waynesburg resident who attended Seton-La Salle High School, also received votes. Orndoff had 13 receptions for 244 yards and five touchdowns in 2015.
