Charge rally in seventh to beat Rebellion

LANCASTER – Kaitlyn Richardson homered and drove in two runs and Dallas outhit Pennsylvania 12-3 as the Charge defeated the Rebellion, 5-2, in an NPF game Friday night at Lancaster’s Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Richardson’s homer in the second gave Dallas (1-0) a 2-0 lead, but the Rebellion (1-2) would even the score in the bottom of the inning as Chaley Brickey hit a two-run shot.

Dallas Escobedo held things in check for Pennsylvania through five innings before giving way to Emily Weiman in the sixth. Weiman pitched a scoreless sixth inning before allowing three runs in the top of the seventh, with the big hit being a two-run single by Brianna Cherry.

Jill Compton pitched two perfect innings of relief, recording four strikeouts, to get the win for Dallas.
