Wild Things game suspended
The Wild Things’ game Sunday against the Lake Erie Crushers at Consol Energy Park was suspended because of rain in the bottom of the third inning.
The game is scoreless.
It will be resumed as part of a doubleheader Aug. 9 when Lake Erie returns to Washington for what will be a four-game series.
The game started following a 35-minute rain delay, was stopped with Washington coming to bat in the bottom of the third and called after another 35-minute delay.
Washington starting pitcher Brandon Hinkle issued three walks, but the lefty picked two of the three off first base.
Lake Erie has had two of its first nine games suspended because of rain.
