Wild Things top Boomers

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Starter Brandon Hinkle and two relievers combined on a six-hit shutout as the Wild Things defeated the Schaumburg Boomers 5-0 Saturday night.

It was the Wild Things’ fourth consecutive victory.

Bryan Harr drove in two runs with a double during Washington’s four-run third inning. John Ziznewski gave Washington a 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly and Auston Wobrock’s run-scoring single made it 2-0, setting up Haar’s double.

Harr tripled in the sixth and scored on a wild pitch.

Hinkle (1-1) pitched six innings for the win. Kolin Stanley followed with two scoreless innings and Andrew Woeck got the final three outs.
