Junior forward Shatara Parsons led four California players in double figures with 19 points and the Vulcans remained undefeated with an 82-73 victory over Ursuline in a non-conference game played Sunday in Pike, Ohio.

California improved to 7-0 but had to fight off a fourth-quarter rally by Ursuline (4-2), which won the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament last season.

Parsons made six of 11 shots and went six-for-eight at the free-throw line.

Point guard Miki Glenn scored 18 points and had a season-high 11 assists. Seairra Barrett scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds though she played only 22 minutes. Lana Doran finished with 10 points and five assists.

Ursuline made jumpers on consecutive possessions midway through the fourth quarter to cut the Cal lead to 68-67 with only 4:44 left. The Vulcans ended a nearly two-minute scoreless drought with a jumper by Abbey Sporio that sparked a 6-0 run to give the Vulcans a 74-67 lead. The Arrows trimmed the deficit to 75-71 with 1:29 remaining before Barrett scored consecutive baskets.

Ursuline was led by Laney Lewis with 26 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Natalie Koenig scored 17.
