Big first half propels undefeated Fort Cherry

McDONALD – Ryhan Culberson touched the football only eight times for Fort Cherry but he accounted for four touchdowns, and Scott Miller had two long scores as the Rangers remained undefeated by rolling over visiting Avella 55-7 Friday night in the Tri-County South Conference.

Culberson caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from Brady Whalen, threw a scoring passes of 56 yards to Miller and added TD runs of 50 and 44 yards. Miller had a 53-yard touchdown run as Fort Cherry (4-0, 6-0) clinched a playoff berth and remained a half-game behind conference leader Carmichaels.

Matthew Staley had a one-yard scoring plunge, Zachary Vincenty opened the second-half scoring with a 35-yard jaunt and Austin Nardozi scored from three yards for the Rangers, who led 49-7 at halftime.

Avella (1-5, 1-6) scored on a four-yard run by Dalton Simonelli.
