Name: Isaiah Robinson

School: Washington

Year: Senior

Sport: Football

Robinson’s week: Robinson had one of the most productive individual performances in school history in Washington’s 41-6 victory over Burgettstown. Robinson had 4 touches for 244 yards – at halftime – and finished with 6 touches for 277 yards and scored two touchdowns. If you are bad at math, that’s a little more than 46 yards gained every time he touched the ball.

Robinson hauled in a screen pass from quarterback Connor Bedillion and went 60 yards for one touchdown and scored on a 75-yard end around from his wide receiver position for the second. He had a 46-yard run that set up Washington’s first score and had a second reception for 13 yards. He outgained Burgettstown’s offense, 277-198, exceptional for a wide receiver.

“I never had a game like that before,” said Robinson. “Our linemen did their jobs and made it easy for me.”

Robinson’s two scores helped push Washington to an 8-0 record and keeps the Prexies one win away from a third consecutive undefeated regular-season schedule.

A perfect specimen: Robinson stands 6-3, weighs 160 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.41 (hand-held timer) and 4.50 (FAT timing). He is a three-sport athlete, playing guard, forward and even center for the Prexies. He has superb leaping ability, setting the triple jump record in track at 46-9.

“He’s a great kid,” said Wash High head coach Mike Bosnic. “He works hard in practice and he works hard in school.”

That has college recruiters calling. He says Seton Hill of the NCAA Division II PSAC has offered a scholarship and others, such as Toledo of the NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference, have been scouting him.

“I’ve been playing football since second grade,” said Robinson. “My mom signed me up for little league and I’ve been playing ever since.”

By his junior season, he began believing he can excel in this sport, have a future past high school football.

“He has a long frame, and great hands,” Bosnic said. “We play him at cornerback on defense and he’s outstanding on special teams. He’s getting more and more interest from (colleges).”

Robinson said he will be concerned about the recruiting process later.

“The playoffs are coming up,” he said. It’s getting real interesting now.”
