Rush runs for 257 yards, carries 41 times, in Mapletown’s 18-0 win
CORAOPOLIS – Dylan Rush lived up to his name by running for 257 yards on 41 carries and scoring three touchdowns Friday night to lead Mapletown to an 18-0 win at Cornell in a nonconference game.
It was Cornell’s first game since the program was dropped four years ago.
Rush scored on an 86-yard run early in the second quarter to give Mapletown (1-1) a 6-0 lead. That’s the way the score remained until the first play of the fourth quarter when Rush went seven yards for his second touchdown. He capped the big night by scoring on a three-yard plunge with 2:53 to play.
Mapletown had 317 rushing yards and held Cornell to only 90 yards of total offense.
