Wild Things’ season ends with loss at Lake Erie
AVON, Ohio – The Washington Wild Things mustered just five hits in their season finale, dropping a 10-2 decision to the Lake Erie Crushers Sunday at All Pro Freight Stadium in a Frontier League game.
Chris Grayson had two of Washington’s five hits, hitting a home run and double for the Wild Things, who finish the season at 46-49.
Brendan Constantino had three hits and Parker Norris homered for Lake Erie (48-48), which needed a win and a loss by River City to force a tie for the second wildcard playoff spot. River City, however, defeated Southern Illinois later in the day.
Southern Illinois, the West Division champions, will be the top seed in the postseason, while East Division champion Joliet is No. 2. Evansville is the third seed.
