Big 4th quarter carries Fort Cherry to road win
GREENSBURG – Ryan Culberson scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to send Fort Cherry to a 41-20 victory over Greensburg Central Catholic in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon.
Culberson scored on a 14-yard run and returned an interception 75 yards for another score in the final seconds for the Rangers (2-0).
Culberson opened the scoring with an 8-yard touchdown run and finished the game with 87 yards on 11 carries. He also completed 4 of 8 passes for 72 yards and a TD to Nick Cook with seven seconds left in the half to give the Rangers a 28-20 lead.
Cook, who finished with 68 yards on five rushing attempts, also scored on a 20-yard run in the second quarter.
Greensburg Central Catholic tied the game, 14-14, in the second quarter on a 1-yard run by quarterback Dom Easiman.
But Scott Miller returned the ensuing kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown and a 22-14 lead.
Alvin Ross rushed for 133 yards on 29 carries and scored the Centurians first TD on a 15-yard run. Easiman completed 10 of 21 passes for 170 yards and a TD pass to Joel LoNigro. Bruce Leonard had 5 receptions for 106 yards.
