Girls soccer: PT’s Stuck sticks it to Chartiers Valley; Waynesburg’s Clayton scores 5 goals
Hannah Stuck scored two goals and Peters Township extended its winning streak to three with a 5-1 victory at Chartiers Valley in a non-section match Saturday afternoon.
Peters Township (4-1-1) led 4-0 at halftime, getting goals from Stuck, Mia Toscano, Andrea McGinnis and Regan LaVigna. Stuck struck again in the second half, scoring her second goal of the game.
Goalkeeper Ava Falcione had to make only four saves for Peters Township.
Chartiers Valley is 5-2 after winning its first five games.
• Madison Clayton scored five goals – three in the first half – as Waynesburg defeated visiting Elizabeth Forward 6-2 in a non-section game.
Kylie Sinn scored one goal for Waynesburg, which improved to 5-1 and has won five in a row. Goalkeeper Emily McCarty made three saves.
Cassidy Kern scored both goals for EF (1-4-2).
In other games, Monessen won at Albert Gallatin, 2-0, and Avonworth shut out Beth-Center 11-0. No details were made available to the Observer-Reporter.
