Christopher leads Carmichaels to win over Avella

AVELLA – Jonathan Christopher passed for three touchdowns to lead Carmichaels to a 40-14 win over Avella in a Class a Tri-County South Conference game Friday night.

Christopher hit Hunter Phillips from 31 and 65 yards out, and William Brown from 30. Brown also scored on a 2-yard run for the Mikes (3-0, 3-1).

Nate Broadwater returned an interception 11 yards for a TD and Brennen Pelzer went over from 5 yards out.

Dalton Simonelli ran for a TD and passed for another to pace Avella (1-3, 1-4). Garrett Geresti had 9 catches for 149 yards.
