Washington’s Isaiah Robinson tries to avoid the tackle Friday of Frazier’s John Celaschi.

Most seasons, the Washington High School football team lives off its rushing attack.

Friday night, the visiting Frazier Commodores found if opposing defenses stack the box againstthe Prexies this season, they are capable of making teams pay.

Connor Bedillion threw three touchdown passes, all to Isaiah Robinson, as the Prexies ran away from Frazier 45-7 on homecoming night.

It was an especially big night for Robinson, a senior who also added a touchdown on a punt return. Oh, and he was named Homecoming King at halftime.

“It was a good night,” Robinson said. “They wanted to stack the box and give me space, and if I get a little bit of space I can do big things every time I touch the ball.”

Things started very slow for the Prexies.

The Commodores used up half the first quarter on their opening drive, holding the ball for 12 plays, before stalling at the Washington 33.

After the Prexies went three-and-out on their opening drive, the began trading turnovers.

Washington’s Isaiah Schoonmaker, who had a big game defensively, intercepted Frazier quarterback Chris Pierce.

But on the Prexies next play Ronnie Paith lost a fumble to give the ball back to the Commodores.

Two plays later Malik Mitchell forced a fumble from Damon Lovis that could have been ruled a Wash High safety, but was instead ruled a touchback for Frazier.

In addition to forcing the fumble, Mitchell also had one of the Prexies’ two sacks in the game.

Mitchell was in the Frazier backfield most of the night and the combination of he and Schoonmaker were a big reason why the Prexies kept Frazier in check.

Pierce completed all five of his passes on the opening drive, but completed just 6 of 18 attempts the rest of the evening.

Paith had an interception in the second half as the Prexies held Frazier to just 110 yards of total offense on the night.

“Malik was big tonight,” Washington head coach Mike Bosnic said. “He and Schoonmaker made plays to get us going. The entire defense played very well. We just had to make some minor adjustments after the first drive.”

With the game scoreless after nearly 15 minutes of play, the two teams decided to put the scoreboard operator to work.

Nick Welsh got Wash High on the board with a five-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter.

After a nice punt return from Robinson, Bedillion hit Robinson with a 28-yard touchdown pass. Robinson then returned a punt 57-yards for a score to make it 21-0.

“That’s all my blockers,” Robinson said. “They put helmets on guys and I just have to find the holes.”

Frazier got on the board when Lovis returned the ensuing kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown to make it 21-7.

But on the next offensive snap, Zyan Wallace broke loose for a 50-yard touchdown run to put the Prexies up 28-7. Wallace led wash High in rushing with 75 yards on just six carries.

The two teams combined for 35 points in just under five minutes of play.

The Prexies started the second half the way they finished the first, with a quick score when Bedillion connected with Robinson for a 14-yard touchdown pass. The duo would also combined for a 57-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter.

Bedillion completed 7 of 12 pass attempts for 166 yards. Robinson finished with six receptions for 141 yards.

“We have some playmakers that can do some special things,” said Bosnic. “We are pretty balanced right now. We have some guys on the outside that are special players.”
