West Greene snaps 18-game losing streak
ROGERSVILLE – Zach Pettit rushed for 190 yards on 15 carries and scored four touchdowns as West Greene snapped an 18-game losing streak by scoring 41 unanswered points in a 41-6 Tri-County South high school football game Friday night against Jefferson-Morgan.
It also was the first win for West Greene’s second-year head coach Rodney Hoffman.
Joe Headlee, who rushed for 59 yards and added 87 passing, scored on a 5-yard run to give the Rockets (0-2, 0-5) a 6-0 lead in the first quarter. But the Pioneers (1-3, 1-4) scored the game’s next 41 points, getting four rushing touchdowns from Pettit and two from Ben Jackson, who rushed for 147 yards on 22 carries.
The Pioneers, who had not won since beating Serra Catholic during the 2014 season, rushed for 359 yards.
