Undefeated Bentworth prepped for a key Section 2-A showdown with Seton-La Salle by beating visiting Beth-Center 6-1 Monday.

The win moves Bentworth to 6-0 in the section and 9-0 overall. The Bearcats lead Seton-La Salle 5-1 in the section. The Bearcats and Rebels play Wednesday at Bentworth.

Against B-C, Paige Marshalek and Jocelyn Timlin each scored two goals for Bentworth. Bea Kossel and Shayla Rokicki each scored one goal.

Beth-Center sits in third place in the section at 4-2 and 4-4 overall.

• Madison Clayton scored two goals and assisted on two others as Section 3-AA leader Waynesburg cruised to a 6-1 victory over host McGuffey.

Waynesburg moved to 5-0 in section play and 8-1 overall. McGuffey is 2-4, 4-5.

Kaley Pell scored one goal and matched Clayton with two assists for the Raiders, who have won eight in a row. Bailey Fudala, Claire Garber and Jessie Hampson each contributed one goal for Waynesburg.

• Alyssia Williams scored in the second half to give Monessen a 2-1 win over Geibel in Section 2-A.

Caitlyn Floro scored in the first half for the Greyhounds (1-5, 3-6). Judy Hannah scored in the first half with Geibel (1-5, 1-5).

• Belle Vernon defeated Laurel Highlands, 5-1, in a Section 2-AAA.

Lexi Demko had a hat trick and Sierra Lynn scored twice for the Leopards (5-1, 7-2). Laurel Highlands is 3-2 and 6-4-1.

• Sam Doleno made five saves for her fourth shutout in South Fayette’s 3-0 win over Central Valley in a Section 4-AAA match.

Jayna Fittipaldo, Rachel Weis and Brenna McGuire each had a goal for the Lions (4-3, 6-4). Central Valley fell to 4-3 and 4-3.

• Ringgold was a 1-0 winner over Trinity in Section 3-AAA. No details were made available to the Observer-Reporter.
