Bentworth bats boom in win over Frazier
Bentworth scored six runs in the final two innings to outlast Frazier, 12-6, in a key Section 1-AA high school baseball game Tuesday.
Ryan Wise had two doubles and Isiah Russell, Jacob Maimone, Riley Nickeson and Andrew Wiltrout had one each for the Bearcats (3-1, 4-3).
George Smalich tripled, Logan Kulkoski, Timmy Sedock and Tyler Dorocan doubled for the Commodores (2-2, 2-4).
• Blackhawk scored all five of its runs in the final two innings to upend South Fayette, 5-1, in a battle of unbeaten teams in Section 2-AAAA.
Nick Ceranio, Mike Turconi and Jimmy Nixon all had doubles for Blackhawk (4-0, 8-0), while Mark Engel allowed three hits over six innings.
Christian Gabriel doubled for South Fayette (3-1, 4-1).
• Brady Durinko’s RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Mt. Pleasant a 3-2 win over Washington in a Section 3-AAA game.
The Vikings (2-1, 3-2) tied it with a run in the bottom of the seventh and scored a run in the fifth.
Frankie Hartzell doubled and Cooper Sharp went 3-for-3 for Wash High (1-3, 2-4).
• Zach Rohaley scattered three hits in five innings, striking out four as Canon-McMillan defeated Allderdice, 11-0, in a five-inning Section 3-6A game.
Jordan Castelli had a double for Canon-McMillan (4-0, 5-4).
Chris Hough took the loss for Allderdice (0-4, 0-6).
