Matt Parish pitched seven strong innings and Southern Illinois emerged with a 1-0 victory over the Washington Wild Things Tuesday night in a Frontier League game.

Parish allowed only three hits and struck out four. He got all the runs he needed in the bottom of the fourth, when Anthony Critelli singled in a run off Washington starter Brandon Bixler, who gave up one run in five innings. Critelli’s hit scored Nolan Earley, who singled and moved to second on a single by Ben Moore.

Rashad Brown, Brailin Jackson and Mike Hill had the only hits for the Wild Things.
