Dukes to face Drexel in NIT

The Duquesne women’s basketball team will play Drexel at the Daskalakis Athletic Center in Philadelphia on Friday after accepting a bid to the National Invitational Tournament.

Duquesne, which is coached by Washington native an Trinity High School graduate Dan Burt, finished the regular season at 18-15, advancing to the finals for the Atlantic 10 Tournament, where they were beaten by Dayton.

Drexel (21-10) fell to James Madison in the Colonial Athletic Association semifinals 76-68 last Friday night.

The Dukes are making their ninth-straight postseason appearance.

The winner of Friday’s game will play the winner of another Friday game between Princeton and Villanova in the second round.
