Wild Things suffer first loss of season
A three-run fifth inning powered Windy City to a 5-2 victory, handing the Washington Wild Things their first loss of the season Saturday night.
Kyle Wood hit a bases-loaded double with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning to provide the winning margin. He went 3-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI.
Windy City took a 2-0 lead in the second when Blair Beck and Ransom LaLonde hit back-to-back doubles after a single by Wood. Two Windy City pitchers held Washington to one hit.
Washington tied it in the third on an error and sacrifice fly by Mike Hill.
