Joliet stops Wild Things

Melvin Rodriguez drove in four runs to send the Joliet Slammers to a 6-3 win over the Washington Wild Things in a Frontier League game Tuesday night.

Rodriguez hit a two-run double in the fourth inning and a two-run home run in the sixth inning as Joliet jumped toa 6-1 lead.

Washington took an early 1-0 lead before Joliet exploded for six runs. The Wild Things added two in the top of the ninth and put two runners on base but couldn’t do any further damage.
