Football playoffs capsule: Burgettstown vs. Steel Valley
Burgettstown vs. Steel Valley

Records: Burgettstown is 7-3, Steel Valley is 9-0.
Class 2A
Winner plays: Either fourth-seed Riverside or 12th-seed Avonworth.
What to watch: After upsetting No. 8-seed Neshannock on a field goal as time expired by Seth Phillis, Burgettstown will have an even taller task against defending state champion Steel Valley. The Ironmen, considered by many the top team in Class AA, have won all nine of their games by an average of 26 points, including a 42-13 victory over Laurel in the first round of the playoffs. The Burgettstown defense will have to stop the ground attack led by Kameron Williams. Steel Valley’s offense didn’t score fewer than 41 points in any game last season on its way to a state title, and hasn’t scored below 31 points in any game this season. Burgettstown will use its Power-I offense and rely on senior quarterback Ryan Lounder to keep the Ironmen offense off the field.
