Burgettstown thumps Brownsville on homecoming

The Burgettstown defense limited Century Conference foe Brownsville to only 98 total yards to convincingly win its homecoming game, 45-0, Saturday afternoon at Hill Memorial Stadium.
Jarred John highlighted a strong first half for the Blue Devils when he intercepted a Brownsville pass and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown to give Burgettstwon a 38-0 lead going into halftime.
Burgettstown (4-0, 5-0) opened the scoring when senior quarterback Ryan Lounder scored on a nine-yard run with 6:57 remaining in the first quarter. Nick Speer, the Blue Devils leading rusher Saturday with 70 yards on 10 carries, then found the end zone two minutes later to extend the lead, 14-0.
Brownsville (1-3, 1-5) was limited to only four first downs.
