Jefferson-Morgan passes test against Mapletown

JEFFERSON – Jefferson-Morgan’s passing game led the Rockets to a 21-6 win over Tri-County South Conference foe Mapletown Friday night at Parker Field.

Senior DL Garrett caught two touchdown passes from junior quarterback Jacob Broadwater to give the host Rockets to their second straight victory. Broadwater completed five of nine pass attempts for 84 yards, and Garrett totaled 113 yards from scrimmage.

J-M (2-2, 3-4) scored two touchdowns in the first half and shutout the Dylan Rush-led Maples. The first came on a 19-yard pass from Broadwater to Garrett, and the second was a 9-yard run from senior Colten Davidson, who ran for 173 yards on 21 carries.

Rush, who totaled 208 yards on 42 carries, ran for a 10-yard touchdown in the third quarter to pull Mapletown (1-4, 2-5) within one score, but Broadwater hit Garrett for a 42-yard score to start the fourth quarter toseal the win.
