Lions get revenge with win over New Castle

NEW CASTLE - Drew Saxton completed 14 of 19 passes for 278 yards and hit Noah Plack with a 5-yard score with 5:32 to play to clinch a 42-33 victory over New Castle in a Class 4A Northwest Nine Conference game Friday at Taggart Stadium.
The win avenges a loss to the Red Hurricane in last year’s first round of the WPIAL playoffs.
Saxton went over 6,000 yards passing and sits at 6,224 for his career. Plack caught 6 passes for 92 yards as the Lions won their 54 straight regular season game. SF is 7-0, 5-0 in the conference.
Marcus Hooker, the brother of Indianapolis Colts defensive back Malik Hooker, rushed for 172 yards on 26 carries and scored all five touchdowns for New Castle (4-2, 4-3).
The Lions led 21-0 after one quarter but were outscored, 33-21 over the final three quarters.
