Unbeaten California shuts out Monessen

MONESSEN – Six different California players scored touchdowns to lead the Trojans to a 53-0 win over Monessen Friday night.
Cochise Ryan started the game’s scoring in the first quarter for the Tri-County South Conference’s first-place team with a 10-yard run. California (4-0, 6-0) scored another first-quarter touchdown on Jelani Stafford’s 11-yard run.
The Trojans then scored four touchdowns in the second quarter. Jonathan Wood and Zion Aldrich ran for touchdowns of three and one yards, respectively. Colin Phillips hit Ryan for a 44-yard touchdown pass, and Devan Lallier recovered a fumble and returned it 18 yards for a score.
Ryan scored his third touchdown of the game in the third quarter on a 20-yard run, and Stafford capped off the game’s scoring with a 53-yard run in the fourth quarter. Stafford ran for 225 yards on 16 carries.
California held Monessen (1-3, 1-5) to negative yards total offense.
