Belle Vernon upends TJ in Big 9 showdown

BELLE VERNON – Quarterback Jared Hartman threw two touchdown passes to lead Belle Vernon to a 21-17 victory over Thomas Jefferson in a Big 9 Conference battle of unbeatens Friday night.

Mason Pascoe had 98 yards rushing on 15 carries and a 47-yard score for Belle Vernon (7-0, 7-0), which led 14-10 at halftime.

Justin Vigna had 24 carries for 139 yards and Shane Stump was 15 for 31 for 212 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for TJ. Garett Fairman had 11 catches for 138 yards.
