ELLSWORTH – A bad snap on an extra-point attempt allowed Bentworth to come away with a wild 28-27 double-overtime victory over Waynesburg Friday night in a nonconference game.

Avery McConnville had just scored on a 10-yard pass from Dylan Scritchfield to make it a one-point game for Waynesburg (1-6). The Raiders sent out the kicking unit but Bentworth jumped offside. So Waynesburg decided to go for two points and the win. But the Raiders were called for delay of game and the kicking team went back out. The snap was high and the holder tackled.

Ben Peternel caught two 10-yard TD passes in OT and a 64-yarder in the first quarter for Bentworth (3-5). Peternel had 7 receptions for 121 yards.

Nate Stephenson had two short touchdown runs, the latter in the first overtime for Waynesburg (1-6).

Stephenson had 29 carries for 122 yards.
