Unbeaten South Fayette assured of at least share of conference title

McDONALD – Drew Saxton completed 17 of 27 passes for 185 yards and four touchdowns as undefeated South Fayette rolled to a 49-14 victory over visiting Highlands Friday night, giving the Lions at least a share of the Class 4A Northwest Nine Conference title.
South Fayette (7-0, 9-0) led 27-0 in the first quarter and 42-7 at halftime. The Lions can win the conference title outright next week by defeating Montour.
Saxton threw TD passes of 10 yards to Johnny Beck, and 31 and 21 yards to Mike Trimbur in the first quarter. He threw his fourth TD pass early in the second quarter, a nine-yarder to Nolan Lutz that made the score 32-7.
Trimbur caught five passes for 106 yards.
Beck rushed for 102 yards on nine carries and had TD runs of 38 and five yards, the latter in the final minute of the first half.
Andrew Franklin had a six-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Seth Cohen threw two TD passes for Highlands (3-4, 4-4).
