SSB in a rush, runs past Waynesburg

HOOKSTOWN – Jake Botkin, Jordan Bruce and Derek Francheck combined for 374 rushing yards and five touchdowns as South Side Beaver defeated visiting Waynesburg 55-21 in a nonconference game Friday night.
All three rushers for South Side (3-7) topped 100 yards in the game, led by Botkin with 148 on 13 carries. He scored on a 55-yard run in the fourth quarter. Bruce had 119 yards on 14 carries and scored from three and 10 yards. Franchek had TD runs of two and 29 yards and finished with 107 on nine attempts.
The Rams led 27-14 at halftime. Waynesburg (1-8) scored first, getting a 36-yard touchdown from Nate Stephenson, who rushed for 110 yards on 14 carries. Stephenson had an 11-yard TD run in the second quarter and Wyatt Henson returned a kickoff 85 yards for the Raiders’ only score of the second half.
SSB quarterback Trenton Seik threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score.
