Many happy returns for Burgettstown in rout of Frazier
PERRYOPOLIS – Burgettstown returned a kickoff, punt and interception for touchdowns – all in the first half – and went on to defeat host Frazier 35-6 in the Century Conference opener for both teams.
Ryan Lounder returned the opening kickoff 55 yards for a touchdown, and before the first quarter would end Lounder ran a punt back 80 yards for his second touchdown and a 14-0 Burgettstown lead.
Lounder passed 44 yards to Jared John early in the second quarter to make it 21-0. After Austin Safreed’s one-yard TD plunge, John returned an interception 45 yards to give Burgettstown (1-0, 1-0) a commanding 35-0 lead with 3:37 left in the first half.
Frazier (0-1, 0-2) scored on a 10-yard run by Mason Kelly in the third quarter.
