Culberson scores 5 TDs as Fort Cherry wins in overtime

McDONALD – Ryhan Culberson ran for a one-yard, game-winning touchdown to give Fort Cherry a 33-30 overtime win over Greensburg Central Catholic at Jim Garry Stadium.
Culberson rushed for 181 yards on 20 carries and scored five touchdowns: three rushing, one passing and one on a fumble return.
The game was a tale of two halves, with 48 points scored in the first half and only six in the second half.
Culberson started the offense-heavy first half with an 80-yard fumble returned for a touchdown and a 22-yard pass to Matt Staley to give Fort Cherry (1-1, 1-1) a 13-0 lead.
Greensburg CC’s Max Pisula then hit Bruce Kurpiel for an 18-yard score to reduce the Centurions’ deficit to six points.
Culberson and Pisula then traded touchdown runs of 10 yards and one yard, respectively.
After a Culberson 40-yard touchdown run, Brandon Ciccarelli intercepted a pass and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown.
The only score in the second half was a 9-yard touchdown pass from Pisula to Luke Mazowiecki.
Greensburg CC (0-2, 1-2) got the ball to start overtime and kicked a field goal before Culberson ended the game with his 1-yard run.
