Boys soccer roundup: Kelly’s goal enough for Peters Township

Luke Kelly’s goal in the 57th minute was the only scoring of the match and Section 2-AAAA leader Peters Township remained undefeated with a 1-0 victory over host Upper St. Clair Tuesday night.
It was the fourth shutout of the season for PT, which improved to 4-0 in the section and 7-0-1 overall. Indians goalkeeper Derek Deyarmin had a busy night, making 14 saves.
USC is 2-2, 2-3-1.
• Kellen Krebs scored the lone goal of the night in the 41st minute as undefeated Seton-La Salle edged host Bentworth 1-0 in a key Section 4-A match.
Seton-La Salle (6-0, 8-0) remains in sole possession of first place as Bentworth (4-2, 6-3) fall two games behind the Rebels. The Bearcats had the edge in shots but couldn’t beat goalkeeper Sam Reinhart, who had three saves.
Bentworth goalkeeper Austin Curry made six saves.
• Canon-McMillan bounced back from its first loss of the season to defeat visiting Bethel Park 2-1 in Section 2-AAAA.
Brandon Byer scored his fourth goal of the season and assisted on a goal by Jeffrey Harbaugh for the Big Macs, who improved to 3-1 in section and 6-1 overall.
Bethel Park’s Dom Galietta scored midway through the second half to make it 2-1.
Bethel Park fell to 0-4, 3-5.
• Ryan Kelly scored on a penalty kick midway through the second half to give Brentwood a 1-0 win over Chartiers-Houston in a Section 4-A match.
Tom Dzoadovsky stopped 11 of 12 shots for C-H (4-2, 5-4).
• Dalton Woods had a hat trick to help Waynesburg shut out Yough 7-0 in a Section 3-AA match.
Gavin Benson had a goal and four assists, Blake Brewer scored two goals and added an assist and Jack Church had a goal and assist for the Raiders (4-1, 5-3). Scott Benco made seven stops in goal.
