Culberson’s 5th TD, with :41 left, gives Fort Cherry win

NEW CASTLE – Fort Cherry quarterback Ryhan Culberson scrambled 45 yards for a game-winning touchdown with 41 seconds remaining as the Rangers defeated host Shenango 42-35 in a nonconference game Friday night.

Shenango (2-2), which led 9-0 after the first quarter, had to rally to tie the score at 35-35 on a short touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Culberson then scored his fourth rushing touchdown to win it for Fort Cherry (3-1).

Culberson ran 18 times for 224 yards. he scored on runs of one, seven, 15 and 45 yards. He also threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Nate Higham in the third quarter and returned a punt 70 yards for a score, giving Fort Cherry a 21-16 lead at halftime.

Maxwell Reamer scored on four short touchdowns runs for the Wildcats.
