David Peralta connected twice in his first multi-homer game and Nick Ahmed scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning, sending the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-3 victory over the Washington Nationals Saturday.

The NL West-leading Diamondbacks took the first two games of the weekend set in Washington to become the first NL team since the 1907 Cubs to win nine straight series to start a season.

Ahmed led off the 10th with a double off Sammy Solis (0-1). Peralta walked with one out before Austin Adams replaced Solis and issued consecutive walks to Jarrod Dyson and A.J. Pollock, putting the Diamondbacks in front.

Yoshihisa Hirano (2-0) pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the win. The Nationals loaded the bases with two out in the 10th before Brad Boxberger got Michael A. Taylor to bounce into a fielder’s choice to pick up his eighth save in eight chances.

Chicago Cubs 3, Milwaukee 0: Jose Quintana pitched seven sharp innings to help the Chicago Cubs beat Milwaukee 3-0 and continue his dominance of the Brewers.

Quintana has thrown 24 straight scoreless innings against Milwaukee dating to July 28. The left-hander tossed six innings of three-hit ball in a 3-0 win at Miller Park on April 8.

Texas 7, Toronto 4: Bartolo Colon pitched seven efficient innings to earn his first win with Texas, and Robinson Chirinos returned from a two-game absence to hit two solo home runs as the Rangers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-4.

Jurickson Profar added a two-run homer as Texas posted its season-high third straight victory.

Tampa Bay 12, Boston 6: Wilson Ramos went deep again and scored on Denard Span’s inside-the-park homer, helping the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Boston Red Sox 12-6 for their eighth consecutive victory.

It’s the longest win streak for Tampa Bay since taking nine in a row in July 2014. The resurgent Rays have won nine of 10 overall to move within one game of .500 at 12-13.

Seattle 12, Cleveland 4: Jean Segura hit a two-run homer and matched a career high with four RBIs, helping the Seattle Mariners rout the Cleveland Indians 12-4.

Nelson Cruz, Kyle Seager and Ryon Healy also connected in Seattle’s highest-scoring game of the season.

Chicago White Sox 8, Kansas City 0: Carson Fulmer allowed four singles over seven innings and Daniel Palka homered and drove in three runs as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals 8-0 in the first game of a doubleheader.

The White Sox are 5-0 against the Royals this season and 3-16 against other opponents. The Royals have been outscored 32-11 during a five-game losing streak and are a major league-worst 1-12 at home.
