A fishing derby, hosted by Peters Township Parks & Recreation and McMurray Rotary will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. until noon at Peters Lake Park. The derby will be for children in grades K-5. Prizes will be awarded for: first fish, biggest fish, smallest fish and most fish. There will be giveaways throughout the day. Register at the recreation center located at 700 Meredith Dr. in Venetia.

Mingo Rod & Gun Club: Meetings are held the third Sunday of each month at 3 p.m. The clubhouse is open Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Shooting ranges are available Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. until sunset and Sundays from 10 a.m. until sunset. For more information, call 724-348-6622.

Canonsburg Sportsmen Club’s trap range is open to the public at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. The club’s 3D archery course is open to the public.
