Canon-McMillan 59, Hempfield 51: Tamara Mathis and Jenna Cromp each had a double-double to propel Canon-McMillan to a 59-51 victory over Hempfield in a Section 2 game in Class 6A.
Mathis scored a game-high 24 points and handed out 10 assists and Cromp had 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Big Macs (1-0, 2-1).
Hempfield was led by Sarah Liberatore’s 13 points. Riley Sullaberger scored 12 points and Jesse Persin added 10 points.
C-M put the game away in the second quarter, outscoring Hempfield (0-1, 2-1), 20-9. That gave the Big Macs a 33-23 lead and they nearly matched Hempfield point for point the rest of the way.

West Greene 68, McGuffey 32: Kaitlyn Rizor tossed in 17 points to help West Greene knock off McGuffey, 68-32, in a non-section game.
The Pioneers (2-1) led 51-18 at halftime and outscored the Highlanders (1-2), 17-14, in the second half.
West Greene also got strong efforts from McKenna Lampe, who scored 16 points, and Madison Lampe, who had 11 points.
McGuffey was paced by Keira Nicolella’s 9 points.

Peters Township 57, Trinity 26: Peters Township rolled out to a 31-4 lead at halftime and cruised to a 57-26 victory over Trinity in a non-section game.
Makenna Marisa scored a game high 23 points, with the help of 5 three-point field goals. Mackenzie Lehman had a double-double,16 points, 11 rebounds, for the 3-0 Indians.
Trinity (1-2) was sparked by Kaylen Venick’s 12 points.

Fort Cherry 41, Monessen 37: Fort Cherry rallied in the fourth quarter to take a 41-37 victory from Monessen in a non-section game.
The Rangers (2-1) trailed Monessen (0-3) by two, 29-27. But FC outscored Monessen, 14-8.
Qitereh Herdison scored 19 points for Monessen.
Fort Cherry got 19 points from Abby Cooper and 12 points from Mckenzie Saure.
