Cal women perfect 10 after latest win
Seairra Barrett scored 28 points to help California University cruised to a 10th straight victory, 84-57, over East Stroudsburg in a PSAC game Wednesday night.
East Stroudsburg fell to 5-6. California is ranked No. 13 in latest WBCA Top 25 poll.
Gina Vallecorsa scored 12 points, Abby Sporio tossed in 11 points and Shauna Harrison added 10 points for Cal, which opened a 35-25 lead at halftime amd broke open the game with a 25-13 run in the third quarter.
Dominique Rayam paced East Stroudsburg with 12 points and Tiffany Lapotski scored 10.
Wash & Jeff 77, Earlham 60: Alie Seto scored a game-high 24 points and Washington & Jefferson crawled over the .500 mark with a 77-60 victory over Earlham in the Cruzin Classic in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Danielle Parker, a Canon-McMillan graduate, had 16 points and 9 rebounds for W&J, which is now 6-5. Aleena McDaniel added 13 points.
Earlham (3-7), which trailed 32-21 at halftime, had three players score in double figures: Kayla Bowling (14), Zoe Curtis (14) and Makayla McFarland (13).
Men’s result
East Stroudsburg 99, California 86: Josh Williams scored 29 points to pace East Stroudsburg to a 99-86 victory over California in a PSAC game.
The win moves East Stroudsburg to 8-2. Cal fell to 3-7.
Williams hit 11 of 16 field goal attempts and sparked a 52-37 run over the Vulcans in the second half. Ryan Smith scored 14 points and Montrel Morgan added 12. Jakwan Jones tossed in 10.
Collin MacAdams matched Williams by scoring 39 points for Cal. Brent Pegram scored 21 and Zyan Collins and Dante williams scored 15 points apiece.
