Nick Fiumara hit two free throws in the finals seconds as Baldwin handed Canon-McMillan a stinging upset, 55-52, in a Section 2 game in Class 6A.
The Big Macs (9-2, 18-2) had a 14-game winning streak snapped and fell one game behind Mt. Lebanon for first place in the standings. C-M’s final section game is against Peters Township. Mt. Lebanon has Upper St. Clair.
Fiumara poured in 18 points and Mike Goga had 11 points for Baldwin (4-7, 9-10).
Jason Fowlkes had 17 points and a final attempt to tie the game for C-M but his desperation three missed the mark. Drew Engel was in double figures with 11 points. Canon-Mac trailed 12-9 after one quarter and 27-23 at halftime. Baldwin led 42-37 after three quarters.
Fowlkes had six points in the fourth quarter and hit a layup to cut Baldwin’s lead to one before Fiumara’s free throws.

South Fayette 42, McGuffey 36: South Fayette remained in the hunt for the Section 3 title in Class 4A with a 42-36 victory over McGuffey.
South Fayette (10-3, 13-6) remains a game be hind Belle Vernon for first place in the section. Both teams have one section game remaining.
Tim Locher scored 13 points for South Fayette (10-3, 13-6), which rallied from a 19-14 halftime deficit.
David Chapman scored 16 points and Trent Belleville added 15 points for the Highlanders (4-9,, 11-10), who were outscored 28-17 in the second half.

Chartiers-Houston 73, Jefferson-Morgan 51: Andrew Clark and Zach Southern combined for 43 points to power Chartiers-Houston to a 73-51 victory over Jefferson-Morgan in a Section 2-AA game in Jefferson.
Clark poured in 23 points and Southern 20 for the Bucs (10-1, 15-4), who broke the game open with a 25-11 edge in the third quarter. Cam Hanley added 16 points for C-H.
Jefferson-Morgan (2-9, 9-12) was paced by Jalen Torres’ 17 points, D.L. Garrett’s 14 points and Josh Clites’ 10 points.

Western Beaver 59, Fort Cherry 44: Four players scored in double figures to power Western Beaver to a 59-44 victory over Fort Cherry in a non-section game.
Noah Gray had a game-high 20 points for WB (5-14). Lou Hapach scored 13 points, Jeddy Young 12 and Lincoln Martin 10.
Fort Cherry (9-11) was carried by Nate Higham’s 17 points and Zach Vincenti’s 12.

Laurel Highlands 77, Ringgold 41: The WPIAL’s leading scorer, Bryce Laskey, poured in a game-high 35 points to send Laurel Highlands to a 77-41 victory over Ringgold in a Section 1 game in Class 5A.
Connor Basinger added 12 points for LH (7-4, 12-8), which held the Rams (0-11, 2-18) to 15 second-half points.
Jaden Taylor scored 18 points and Demetrius Butler chipped in with 10 points for Ringgold.

West Greene 69, Bentworth 28: Four players scored in double figures to propel West Greene to a 69-28 victory over Bentworth in a non-section game.
McKenna Lampe led West Greene (19-1) with 18 points. Kaitlyn Rizor tossed in 17 points, Elizabeth Brudnock 12 and Jersey Wise 11.
Bentworth (3-18) was led by Jenna Vito’s 11 points.
