Wild Things lose to Freedom in 10
FLORENCE, Ky. – Jordan Brower’s one-out single in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Florence Freedom a 9-8 come-from-behind victory over the Wild Things Wednesday night.
Florence overcame an early 6-1 deficit by scoring twice in the fourth inning, three times in the fifth and adding a tying run in the seventh.
A single by Jimmy Heck and double by Keivan Berges gave Florence two runners on base with no outs in the 10th against Zach Strecker (3-2). After an intentional walk and strikeout, Brower’s single won the game, sending Washington to its fifth loss in seven games.
Hector Roa homered and drove in four runs for the Wild Things.
Florence used seven pitchers with Johnathan Tripp (3-0) getting the win. Washington had runners on first and second with no outs in the 10th against Tripp, who got out of the jam with the help of two strikeouts.
