Boys Cross Country MVP – Sam Snodgrass
Sam Snodgrass was Superman during the WPIAL Cross Country Championships. When the gun sounded to begin the Class AA boys race, the South Fayette senior shot out of the starting gate faster than the proverbial speeding bullet and coasted to victory on the hilly course at Cooper’s Lake. His winning time of 16:33 was 14 seconds quicker than that of runner-up Kendall Brown from Indiana. At the PIAA Championships in Hershey, Snodgrass made a strong bid for another gold medal but finished 21st overall in a time of 16:49. Snodgrass trailed only race winner Isacca Davis from Jersey Shore at the two-mile mark.
