Pirates’ Glasnow struggles against Blue Jays

Russell Martin, playing third base, and Curtis Granderson each hit their third home runs of the spring for Toronto as a Blue Jays split-squad team defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 13-4 Wednesday in windy Dunedin, Fla.

Toronto’s J.A. Happ gave up two hits and two walks in his three-inning start.

Josh Bell homered for Pittsburgh.

Pirates starter Tyler Glasnow had a rough outing, giving up six hits and seven runs (six earned) in only 2 2/3 innings. Glasnow struck out five but walked three and gave up a two-run homer to Devon Travis.

Pittsburgh reliever Michael Feliz gave up three solo home runs in two innings. Toronto hit five home runs.

Catcher Ryan Lavarnway went 2-for-2 with a home run for the Pirates. Pittsburgh was held to five hits by seven Toronto pitchers.
