Colin Caven cracked a two-run homer to send the playoff-bound Peters Township past Baldwin, 4-2, in a Section 3 game in Class 6A.

Peters Township (6-6, 10-9) finished the regular season in a 3-way tie with Upper St. Clair and Mt. Lebanon for third place.

Caven’s home run highlighted a four-run third inning that erased a 2-0 deficit. Kyle Comini, who went 3-for-4, drove in a run and scored a run. Luke Mary drove in a run with a single.

Jordan Rush doubled in a run in a two-run second for Baldwin (4-8, 5-11).

Winning pitcher Tom Colcombe struck out five.

• Waynesburg scored 10 runs in the top of the second inning and defeated Charleroi 13-0 in a five-inning Section 3-AAA games between playoff-bound teams.

Waynesburg (8-4, 9-4) finishes in second place in the section with Charleroi (7-5, 11-5) settling for a third-place with Mt. Pleasant.

The Raiders had a 13-hit attack that included 12 singles. A double by Luke Robinson was the lone extra-base hit. Tyler Switalski was 3-for-4 and scored three runs, and Robinson, Kyle Blasco and Trey Rohanna each had two RBI.

Brandon Turcheck and Switalski combined on a three-hitter. Cole Perry had a double for Charleroi.

• Austin Bergman drove in two runs and Albert Gallatin held off a late charge by visiting Carmichaels to edge the Mikes 5-3 in a non-section game.

Albert Gallatin took advantage of three Carmichaels errors to score four unearned runs and forge a 5-1 lead after four innings. Carmichaels (11-5) scored twice in the top of the seventh and had the tying run at the plate when the game ended. Dylan Wilson, who drove in the first run of the game with a sacrifice fly, and Nick Mundell each had run-scoring hits in the seventh. Mundell was 3-for-4.

Adam Simon and Nate Bricker combined on a six-hitter for AG (6-13).

• Shane McGavitt was 3-for-3 and George Smalich, the No. 9 hitter in Frazier’s batting order, had a triple and double as the Commodores defeated Bentworth 7-2 in the Section 1-AA finale.

Frazier (4-10, 5-11) erased a 1-0 deficit with a four-run third inning and Trevor Hayes threw a six-hitter for the Commodores. McGavitt had a triple and Timmy Sedock doubled.

Isiah Russell and Michael Vittone each had two singles for Bentworth (0-14, 2-15).

Max Paterni went 3-for-4 and drove in 3 runs as Fort Cherry knocked off Beth-Center, 12-7, in a Section 1-AA game.

• Fort Cherry (10-4, 11-5) scored 4 runs in the top of the seventh to ice the game. Hunter Terpack and Andy Nice each had a double for the Rangers. Cam Schaub hit a solo home run.

Anthony Dellapenna, Cam Parker and Cam Palmer each hit a double for B-C (7-7, 8-8), which missed making the playoffs by one game.

• Jake Mayer doubled twice and drove in 5 runs to power Ringgold to a 13-4 victory over Yough in a non-section game.

Luke Winterbottom went 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI for the Rams (14-2), who led 7-0 after three innings. Anthony Vavasori went 2-for-3 and drove in 2 runs and Bo Haines was 2-for-3 with 4 runs scored.

Yough fell to 6-11.

• Tom Voelker hit a two-run home run in a 3-run fifth inning of Greensburg Central Catholic’s 6-2 victory over Jefferson-Morgan in a Section 2-A game.

Bruce Leonard struck out seven and Ethan Bailey doubled for GCC (11-1, 12-2).

Zack Gamble and Bryce Bedilion each had a double for the Rockets (4-8, 5-8), who left 15 men on base, including the bases loaded in the first, third and sixth innings.

• Brownsville scored a pair of runs in the 10th inning to defeat California, 8-6, in non-section battle.

Derrick Hammitt had a double and drove in two runs for California (9-7). Payton Conte, Nathan Zemany and Jacob Piktel each had an RBI for the Trojans.

Nick Climes was the winning pitcher.

• Nolan Thompson pitched four scoreless innings, Colin Caven drove in four runs and Kyle Comini went 3-for-4 from the leadoff spot to lift Peters Township over Trinity in six innings, 12-2, in a non-section game Tuesday night.

Six of the first seven hitters in the lineup for the Indians had a multi-hit game. Every player to get an at-bat for Peters Township (10-9) recorded a hit, giving Thompson, the Indians starter, plenty of run support. Thompson struck out seven and earned the victory.

Trinity fell to 5-9 overall.
