Ground attack leads Charleroi over Riverview
Charleroi running backs Brayden Mihalcin and Hunter Perry combined for 347 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Cougars to a 48-7 victory over Riverview in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon.
Leading by only a touchdown at halftime, 14-7, Charleroi (1-0, 2-0) exploded for 27 unanswered points in the third quarter to pull away from the Raiders.
Mihalcin opened the scoring for both teams with a 30-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He had 206 yards on 14 carries and four scores.
Hunter Perry had 9 carries for 141 yards and two touchdowns.
The lone touchdown for Riverview (0-1, 0-2) came on a 64-yard run by Devin Binz.
