West Allegheny 55, Trinity 42: Clare Mercurio tossed in a game-high 18 points to help West Allegheny upend Trinity, 55-42, in a Section 2 game in Class 6A.

Grace Faulk and Hannah Lindemuth each scored 13 points for West Allegheny (3-5, 8-5), which led 36-23 at halftime and put the game away with a 15-9 run in the fourth quarter.

Trinity (5-3, 7-7) was paced by Ashley Durig, who had 13 points, and Kaylin Venick, who scored  10 points.

Charleroi 30, Waynesburg 27: Hannah Keranko sank a three-point field goal with 5.3 seconds to play to rally Charleroi to a 30-27 victory over Waynesburg in a Section 2 game in Class 3A.

Keranko’s basket gave Charleroi a 28-27 lead. Bella Skobel added to free throws before the buzzer to make the winning margin three. Charleroi trailed 20-17 heading into the fourth quarter but outscored Waynesburg, 13-7, over the final eight minutes.

Charleroi (1-7, 4-11) was led by Faith Barton’s 12 points. CP Miller scored 11 points for Waynesburg (1-7, 5-10).

West Greene 70, Monessen 22: Three players hit double figures and 10 scored for West Greene in a 70-22 victory over Monessen in a Section 2 game in Class A.

McKenna Lampe led the way with 18 points, Kaitlyn Rizor scored 16 and Madison Lampe chipped in with 12 points for West Greene (7-0, 12-1), which led 35-10 at halftime. West Greene has won 27 consecutive section games.

Jahnell Jackson keyed Monessen (3-4, 4-11) with 10 points.

South Park 67, McGuffey 22: A fast start paved the way for South Park’s 67-22 victory over McGuffey in a Section 3 game in Class 2A

The Eagles (7-1, 8-6) opened a 20-2 lead after one quarter. Maura Hewalt had a game-high 23 points.

McGuffey was paced by Keira Nicolella’s 13 points.

Frazier 53, Chartiers-Houston 22: Brooke Poling tossed in a game-high 19 point to spark Frazier to a 53-22 victory over Chartiers-Houston in a Section 3 game in Class 2A

Sierra Twigg contributed 15 points and Ashley Moger added 11 points for Frazier (6-1, 10-5), which has won six in a row.

Chartiers-Houston (3-4, 5-10) was led by Zamierah Edwards, who had 8 points.

Washington 57, Brownsville 37: Washington won its second game in a row with a 57-37 thumping of Brownsville in a Section 2 game in Class 3A.

Carley Allen produced a game-high 16 points, Randi Thomas ended with 14 points and Torri Finley scored 13 points for Washington (7-1, 12-3), which led 28-17 at halftime.

Emma Seto was Brownsville’s leading scorer with 9 points. The Falcons are 3-5 and 8-6.

Peters Twp. 71, Baldwin 23: The five starters for Peters Township scored in double figures in a 71-23 rout of Baldwin in a Section 2 game in Class 6A.

Isabella Mills and Journey Thompson each scored 17 points, and Makenna Marisa and Jordan Bisignani contributed 11 points apiece, a season high for the latter. Mackenzie Lehman had a double-double: 10 points and 10 rebounds. 

Kayla Radomsky scored 6 points for Baldwin (2-6, 7-7).

South Fayette 52, Montour 38: South Fayette outscored Montour 38-18 over the middle two quarters to assure a 52-38 victory in a Section 1 game in Class 5A.

Maura Castelucci led South Fayette (5-3, 10-5) with 14 points. Karyssa Larson scored 13 points and Clare Relihan finished with 12 points.

Courtney Tomas led all scorers with 27 points for Montour (1-7, 5-8).
