Kylie Airesman

Kylie Airesman leaves a pretty good legacy at Bishop Canevin. A four-year letterwinner, the 5-9 outside hitter and McDonald native had an immediate impact. She helped the Crusaders win a PIAA championship as a freshman. During her career, the Crusaders compiled a 77-26 record, complete with three WPIAL titles. A consistent all-star earning first-team honors on the all-section and all-WPIAL units, Airesman finished her career second on Canevin’s all-time list for kills with 647. She owned a .135 hitting percentage, blocked 27 shots and served up 144 aces. She also recorded 809 digs. This past autumn, Airesman led the Crusaders to an undefeated section banner and an unbeaten record (16-0) in WPIAL action. They capped league play with a sweep of Carmichaels, 25-11, 25-11, 25-9, in the district final played Nov. 2 at Fox Chapel. In the WPIAL championship match, Airesman led the Crusaders with 25 digs. She registered 11 kills. While the district win marked the fourth in the past seven years, the Crusaders ended their season in the first round of the PIAA playoffs, falling to Northern Cambria, 3-1, on Nov. 17 at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg.
