Ringgold’s Vogt wins PIAA diving gold

LEWISBURG – Anna Vogt led after the first round and semifinal round in the PIAA Class AA Diving Championships at Bucknell University.

Most importantly, though, the Ringgold senior led after the final round Wednesday to win her first state gold medal.

Vogt finished with 421.10 points in the 11-dive competition, nearly 40 points ahead of Trinity’s Erica Kenski. Allentown’s Jamilie Atiyeh won the bronze medal with 375.80 points.

Vogt finished the semifinal round with 301.90 points and held a 25-point lead over Kenski.

Vogt capped the five-dive opening round with 197.85 points.

Vogt was fourth after the opening round last year (168.65). She moved to second after the semifinals (274.30), but slipped to third in the final standings with 372.95 points.
